Stupid Snowstorms

Worked late last night, but wanted to get 4 miles in despite that. Unfortunately, I don't have a window in my office, and it's too dark in the evening to see out the nearest window with any actual awareness. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was snowing--probably 2+ inches. Add the 20 degree temps, and I'm moving my off-day from Friday to last night. Damn! I hate doing that!

Day One for Boston 2007

Yesterday was Day One of my Higdon training program. An easy three miles. Probably the last time I'll see that, as this program is filled with hills, long runs, and speed work, of which two out of three will be relatively new to me.

Weather was cold--low 30's--but I'm finding that the Chicago Marathon running jacket I got for Christmas does a great job keeping me warm. It definitely cuts through the wind, too.

I know that I was still feeling the cobwebs from the Vinyard extravaganza until I got my run in last night. That snapped me out of it--just one of the reasons I love running.

The First Post

Well, I finally decided it was time for me to document the things I love the most: Notre Dame football, running, baseball, and the occasional adult beverage. I'll largely use this forum to document my training, but I hope to have other commentary from time-to-time. I'm in the taper phase of Chicago Marathon 2006 training, so this is a horrible time to start blogging. Oh well. Timing isn't everything, is it?
